BRIAN JOSEPH DISCOUNT

Brian Joseph Discount lost his life on August 16, 2017 at the age of 33 following a courageous battle with melanoma. Brian was a beloved family member, loyal friend, and devoted attorney. His smile was contagious and his humor was endless. Philadelphia sports, Seinfeld, and Phish were among his greatest passions. Brian left a lasting impression on those lucky enough to have known him.

On December 11, 2019, the Brian J. Discount Melanoma Fund in a ceremony attended by family, friends and the medical team at Penn, announced a $150,000 pledge to the Tara Miller Melanoma Center. The care and treatments that Brian received from his doctors led by Dr. Lynne Schuchter at the University of Pennsylvania helped prolong his life.

Research is a costly endeavor and without proper funding we will continue to lose young people like Brian. Had it not been for the medical advances achieved in the years before Brian’s diagnosis, he would not have had seven more years of life. To honor Brian and the fund’s contribution a plaque will be displayed in the Tara Miller Melanoma Center.

You can support the efforts of the Brian J. Discount Melanoma Fund through one of our live events or a direct donation to the fund.
